Food for Thought
food for Thought is a Government backed initiative to raise awareness in healthy eating. The school received funding to take part in this project. Mis Magnussen attended an information sharing session on the Mainland on how to take this project forward. Please see attached pdf file on Food for Thought which shows some of the work which went into this project, culminating in the Fantasic Food Fair in December. There is also a very interesting article on the Food Fair on the Taste of Shetland website.
We held our Christmas Assembly on Monday 15th December. this included a small Nativity Play by Nursery - P3. A collection at the door raised £63 for Project Ecuador!

End of Term Dance
The Pupils chose to have an Outdoor Beach Party theme for their End of Term Dance. It was a cold night so the Party was held in the Games hall and was a great success!

A Visit from a Shetland Pony
We had a very special visitor at school for Friday Fun. We all got to pet, groom and walk the pony. We had to wear hard hats to stay safe and also had to remember to wash our hands afterwards.
Our Annual Sports Day was a joint event with Olnafirth, Mossbank and Urafirth Schools. The children were divided into teams are awarded points for the different activities. The white team won at the end of the day.
Classic Cars June 2014
We were delighted to welcome members of the Classic Car Group to the School. The children gave our visitors a guided tour of the school and then saw their beautiful cars! The school was presented with a lovely book on London at the end of the visit.
Bridge End Trip May 2014
Burland Croft Trail, Trondra
P5-7 attended the Hockey Festival and were delighted to win their matches!
The Pupil Council held a disco for Sport Relief and raised £82.25!!
The children were delighted to be awarded "Gold" for their performances at the Music Festival!
