Our School
Lunnasting Primary School is a small two teacher school, set in the north east mainland of Shetland. There are 24 pupils in the school, split into two classes, Primary 1 - 4 and Primary 5 - 7.
This website sets out to explain some of the wide range of activities and connections that characterise the Lunnasting School, and to show you examples of the work carried out by the pupils. We are a permanent Eco School, please click here for more details. Our latest Eco Report is available in the menu on the left.
Lunnasting Primary School is one of seven which send children to Brae High School after Primary 7 (age 11 - 12). This is in the village of Brae, about 12 miles away.
All parents of children at the school are members of The Parent Forum. They organise fund raising, a visit to the pantomime, Halloween Party, Christmas Party and Sports Day among other things.
We have an active Parent Council which holds regular meetings.
